Where do they get the wall art backgrounds from?
Ya’ll said “gets its flowers” so much that it legit felt like a prank on the listeners.
Crazy how they were able to ensure GOW made the cut , but Forza wasn't in GOTY due to vote timing. Grounded should have gotten more love. 1.0 was so damn good.
Metal Hellsinger has a cool soundtrack so I'm happy to see it in the best soundtrack category.
It's a shame that there's so little love for Plague throughout this show. It is "not that good" as Greg highlighted in terms of a Game of the year but I would say it is good enough in other categories. At least good enough to seriously consider it.
Other soundtracks that were snubbed aside from Kirby and TMNT: Tunic, Cult of the Lamb and Horizon Forbidden West. Tunic and Cult's OSTs are sublime and perfectly fit the tone of the games. Horizon has an excellent score as well that carries throughout the game.
Voted for Elden Ring in every category it was in as it deserves the wins, but God of War is going to win some just because it's a big playstation game.
Best action/adventure. Elden Ring.
"Fuck the industry" – Tim Gettys 🔥🔥🔥
I know God of War deserves the goty but I understand that Elden Ring will get it, although I don't agree with the comparison of Elden ring being innovative and God of War just being God of War 2018, if you have played all the Dark Souls game before Elden ring, but the campaign for that game's goty has been going on almost all year now so I understand if end up winning.
Greg Miller spamming "it's not that good" about A Plague Tale: Requiem, even though he chooses not to finish it is exactly why I don't take Kinda Funny seriously about video games. 👎
Plague tale music is incredible – even if yall didn't play the game highly recommend to go give it a listen
The amount “flowers” talk was just out of control in this video
Feel like the toughest year was 2018 with red dead 2 and God of war 2018. Still haven’t had an open world game as polished and immersive as rdr2.
34:45… WWE is in the best theatrical performance categorie.
Sports. Lol.
On what planet could anyone possibly think that elden ring has best narrative????
For the accessibility conversation, I do think Ragnarök deserves recognition, but The Last of Us Part I does as well. Yeah it’s mostly the features from Part II, which are super extensive for the current state of the industry, but the audio description stuff is a big deal and something I don’t think Ragnarök has. The work that took deserves recognition and this is a great place to emphasize that. It’s between either of those two games for me.
Also yeah, Kinda Funny is one of the only places I hear the “flowers” thing and it felt like there was and inside joke going on in this video lol
Appreciation post incoming……as a Seattle-ite I appreciate the shout out to the Sonics Andy……carry on
Community support for destiny 2 is such a laugh. If you listen to the community Bungie can't do a single thing right lol.
… I guess the industry lost
Nibellion baby let’s go!!!
Another banger show. Where did you guys get the art work that was being displayed on the main screen? It was all 🔥
If Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok swapped release dates, I GUARANTEE we wouldn’t be having the conversation of “51% to 49%”. I absolutely love God of War, but Elden Ring was a generational defining game. The conversation around it was insane, and nobody is accurately recalling the extent of it. The buzz for that game in the Spring far surpasses the current buzz around GoW. Elden Ring takes this easily.
i go for Stray! You are crazy to believe that with all his nomination that Stray will just make figuration he is there to win
I think the only people who liked immortality are you industry people
Greg gives Andy the finger when he says he feels Sunny wasn’t as good in Ragnarok as 2018, and I guess I’m getting the finger too because I agree with Andy.
Everybody is entitled to their opinion and its respectful but I am kinda amazed that for soundtrack almost all of you mentioned Elden Ring, the luck of music is kinda frustrating at moments, it's one memorable track only and it amazes me that it was even mentioned, it's most probably the less inspiring of the souls series. While for Ragnarok it was mentioned it's the same with the old which is not true at all and shows that you didn't really check the soundtracks, it's miles better and more inspired than the 2018.
Same with ART direction, Elden Ring is supposed to be new game/series/ip but it has same ART with the souls while Ragnarok is just the continuation of the previous game but the whole direction is so much better and varied, you will not find better portrayal for Norse Mythology in any medium, which is extraordinary of an the achievement.
Everything else is matter of taste but try to have a bit more educated analysis than just express a feeling or impression that lacks any explanatory point, it's disrespectful to the artists.
It's even known that the ART and soundtrack for Elden Ring was limited by the budget.
My comment might seem a bit harsh but in general I liked the video and that you guys expressed your opinions and tried to be objective from your own perspective.
Should have said "gets it's flowers" just a few more times…
Alain “Alejandro Vargas” Mesa the biggest snub for performance of the year, and SIFU in fighting game wtf.
I don’t get this teams obsession with Sifu. I tried it, it’s way too difficult and it really puts a damper on the experience. Plus while the art side is great for an indie game, it really didn’t make any kind of strong impression on me
The soundtrack to plague tale is insane, it would get my vote
You guys really don't like cats! Poor Stray 😿😅
Elden Ring fanboys are slowly but surely pushing me into a direction of despising that game. I really enjoyed playing it, but the way these dudes talk about it like it is god's gift to gaming and not just a open world souls game with no story, no accessibility options (I guess just screw handicapped people) and, quite frankly, it ran like complete crap at launch. "If Elden Ring doesn't win, it sets the industry back" Dude, STFU and get off your high horse. I really don't give two squirts of P what wins GOTY, but I am full-fledged rooting against Elden Ring winning it.
Game direction and innovation belongs to Elden Ring as that is the sole reason why people coined the term "Ubisoft formula" and realized you can make an open world game without needing to make a to do check list.
To me GoW:R is like Doom Eternal, it takes what the first game did and improved on it in almost every way, but because its more of the first it wont stick in peoples mind the way the first game did, for that I expect Elden Ring to win GOTY.
I voted Stray for chaos reasons, to see what happens.
what in the world were Barrett and Tim talking about during Best Multiplayer? Barrett said "all the people playing Splatoon 3 keep talking shit about it because of the mistakes they keep making" and Tim said it "didn't hit." literally both of those statements are factually wrong lol. No idea where either of them got that.
Can somebody explain why the nominations are decided now when there are still games left to come out? Pokémon just came out. Callisto is a few a weeks. Not that Pokémon is GotY contender, but maybe, Callisto can be. So games out in November/December aren’t considered for anything???

"I think more people played God of War" What? Have you not seen Elden Ring's sales numbers?

Seems silly that they're voting on what they think will win instead of what they would vote on if they were the people who decide the winner. This just becomes them fighting for the quick rush of out guessing the other three.
It should be that they vote for what they would vote for and then the "competition" is just finding out who's personal tastes are most in line with the rest of the gaming zeitgeist.

You never see a game come out in the beginning of a year and stay the dominant "This has to be the game of the year" conversation every single month throughout the year.
Ragnarok already feels like people are starting to move on from their experience with it.
The next big giant hit of a game that resonates with people will have the question "is this the best game since Elden Ring?" asked about it, not "Is this the best game since Ragnarok?"
It really just can't be any other game that wins, we're talking about a game that's clearly going to stay on Top 10 Games of All Time lists for a long time.

I really disagree with those who said that elden ring is the clear winner. There are enough people in the industry who really didn't vibe with elden ring. Despite being the least niche from soft game, it's still niche. I'm personally someone who started elden ring, was Lukewarm on it, then I really got into it for like 40 or 50 hours, and then went back to being lukewarm about it after it. It's a much more divisive game than GOW. I could be wrong but that's just my take

art direction for me is scorn .
Imo Mobile will be a close call between genshin and Marvel snap. I personally would prefer genshin wining since it's objectively the better game (Vs a card collector)
Elden Ring is more popular than God of War
Nothing worse than hearing blessing talk about Eldon ring. 4/5 enough said.
